Punta Negra is one of 43 districts of Province of Lima, which fall in the Peruvian district. It is the twenty-third highest spender on tourism in the world, and is the highest in Latin America. The vast majority of tourists come from the Canada and United States. Others come from Asia, Latin American countries and Europe. In Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index, 2008; it was fifth among Latin American countries, and ninth in the America. As regards the communications; telecommunications industry is mostly dominated by Telmex, the Mexican satellite system is domestic and operates 120 earth stations, usage of radio, television, and Internet is prevalent. There are about 1,410 radio broadcast stations and 236 television stations in total.
The Free and Sovereign State of Quintana Roo is one of the 31 states, which, with the Federal District, comprise the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. It is home of the world famous city of Cancún, the islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres, the towns of Bacalar, Playa del Carmen and Akumal, as well as the ancient Mayaruins of Muyil Xel-Há, Chacchoben , Tulum, Coba, Kohunlich , and Xcaret. The Sian Ka’anBiosphere Reserve is also in the state. The tourist boom began in the 1970s, which resulted in the growth of the recreation industry, which resulted in a boom to the nation’s GDP. People blame environmental damage in Quintana Roo on either the regional government or outside investors.
