Goose Cove Cottage is a newly renovated and beautifully decorated cape loaded with amenities near Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park - tucked away on a tranquil wooded lot, yet a short distance to any desired location both on and off Mount Desert Island.

Choose from an abundance of exciting, exhilarating, and entertaining activities during the day. Then, relax and rejuvenate later in peace and quiet. Watch a movie or your favorite sporting event on a 50-inch plasma TV, read a book, play a game, surf the net, or sit on the deck and chat with a cold drink in hand.

This is a great starting point to easily access any location on Mount Desert Island, the commercial center of Ellsworth, or Schoodic Peninsula. Your beautiful Acadia vacation rental retreat has three bedrooms.

The spacious master bedroom on the second floor has a king size bed. Across the hall is the guest room with a queen size bed. On the first floor is the third bedroom, also with a king size bed. Each bedroom is equipped with an LCD television and DVD player. There are two full bathrooms, one on each floor.

Dining area: There are several scenic towns and villages you will want to see while visiting Mt Desert Island. Downtown Bar Harbor is only approximately 10 miles from the vacation rental cottage. Somesville is situated at the head of Somes Sound, a fjord-like embayment 5 miles long, and is a 15-minute drive. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Northeast Harbor, an affluent yachting community known for its beautiful homes and the Asticou Azalea Gardens. From there you can board a ferry* to the scenic Cranberry Isles. Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor are on what is considered the 'quiet' side of the Island. In 20 to 25 minutes you can be visiting these quaint fishing villages, exploring Bass Harbor Lighthouse, or taking the ferry* to Swan's Island. *(Be sure to check schedules and fares in advance.)

Bedroom with King Bed Acadia National Park is known for its raw beauty and panoramic views along the Park Loop Road, also known as "Ocean Drive," that takes you to well-known sights such as Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Otter Cliff, and Cadillac Mountain where you can be one of the first in the continental United States to view the sunrise over the Atlantic ocean and Gulf of Maine.

If you like hiking or scenic walks, take time to discover the famous Carriage Roads that weave through the Park. There are also over 120 miles of hiking trails for your enjoyment or take a walk along the shoreline.

Payment Policy: All Rates in US Dollars.

Extra fee for occupants exceeding 6.

There is a $75.00 cleaning fee at departure. Housekeeping during stay may be prearranged and is at $30.00 per hour.

Wireless laptop computer available to rent @ $40.00 (plus tax) for the week.

Tax Rate: 8.5%.

To confirm a reservation: Within 2 weeks of making a reservation, a non-refundable deposit of one-third the rental amount (check or money order) along with a signed lease is required to secure a reservation. Credit card information is requested on the lease to act as a security deposit and for any additional services used during time of stay. Final payment is due 30 days in advance of arrival. Upon receipt of final payment, directions will be provided and access to keys will be arranged.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel after confirming, the initial deposit is non-refundable. Failure to make final payment at least 30 days in advance of arrival will be cause for termination of the reservation. Refund of any of the final payment will be contingent upon the owner's ability to re-rent the property for the same period. Any deviation from these policies is at owner's discretion.
